We have live music at the market throughout summer and beyond!
Every Saturday you will see amazing artists doing a live set at the market from 12 noon onwards. Musicians will play their own original music as well as covering others. It’s a great afternoon being entertained while having a glass of vino and some epic street food.
Oysters, French Cheese and Charcuterie at the Market
For all you French food lovers we have a special treat in store for you from now on, The French Comte have joined the market. The French Comte are purveyors of fine French cheese, charcuterie and pate. They specialise in working with boutique producers who still use traditional artisan methods to produce their delicious wares.
Their range includes the slow smoked Saucisse de Morteau, a delicious
amber coloured pork sausage made following a traditional method that can
be traced back to the16th century. Comté (aged 12, 18 or 24 months),
Mont D’Or are amongst their cheeses but they do offer a lot more and you can also speak to them about what you would like to see at the market.
Look out for Cancoillotte, which is a very specialised, little known
runny cheese that is believed to have been produced as part of the
butter making process in the region for over 2000 years. Served hot or
cold, flavoured with champagne, garlic Vin Jaune or walnuts, it is
something to be experienced.
We also have oysters being shucked at the market for you to enjoy or for you to take home to devour as you please.
If you want the freshest most delicious fish in town be sure to drop by every Saturday!
Don’t forget we have the freshest fish at the market! Our wet fish that we sell at the market is only from Friday’s catch or land and is direct from the fishermen. There are no middlemen, you can literally taste how fresh it is. We also have smoked salmon from Ullapool and brown and white crab meat, cockles, clams.
